Thoroughbred Music is an artist agency, management, promotion company, incorporating  record label, distribution, CD/DVD production and PR functions.

Thoroughbredmusic offers a “one-stop shop” approach for artists. As well as management, agency, and promotional function we can facilitate  recording, public relations, CD/DVD production and design, duplication, record label, and physical and digital distribution deals through Proper Records as appropriate.

For the venue or promoter we can offer all of our artists for live performance.

The company was founded by Adrian Collis, a respected licensee and music venue owner to further the careers of the incredible thoroughbred talent that he found was offering to play in his venues. This resulted in a collaboration with friend BILLY BRAGG and terminal cancer sufferer: MAXINE EDGINGTON who penned the song “We Laughed”, and the subsequent formation and management of The Rosetta Life Band to perform it. The song was a top 20 hit in 2005, with several live shows and TV shows including The Late Late Show in Dublin, and culminating in the 2005 “New Years Eve Live” BBC1 program, raising a lot of money for The Rosetta Life charity.

Long term friend and EX STACKRIDGE front-man Mutter Slater became a member of The Thoroughbredmusic Stable, and the first MUTTER SLATER BAND CD: “Riding a Hurricane” was the first to be recorded, mixed, and mastered for the Thoroughbredmusic Label, and distributed through Proper Records.

Thoroughbredmusic has also promoted legendary Faces/Small faces IAN McLAGAN and THE BUMP BAND,  GERAINT WATKINS(Nick Lowe/Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings/Van Morrison and ROBBIE McINTOSH(McCartney/Pretenders/Norah Jones/John Mayer) BAND, CURVED AIR, Hoax front man JON AMOR, highly acclaimed jazz/soul singer JULIE DUNN, blues outfit THE PRODUCERS, and many more.

Add to that folk rock brilliant new find ELAINE PALMER, and a new exceptional talent from Exeter: JAMES LUSBY. The Thoroughbredmusic stable is filling up with masses of talent…..exciting times….watch this site for further details…tour announcements,  and album release details.
